LK Germany congratulates Siemens on officially launching the Eigen Engineering Agent at the 2026 Hanover Fair. As a professional manufacturer of automation instruments and meters in Germany, LK specializes in radar level gauges, guided wave radar level gauges, ultrasonic level gauges, and more. The engineering intelligent agent is embedded as a new component in the TIA Portal fully integrated automation engineering platform and included in the Siemens Xcelerator industrial digitalization suite. This product is an industrial specific generative AI tool developed by Siemens for automation engineers. Unlike general large models, it is entirely based on industrial automation specifications, IEC safety standards, and Siemens automation product knowledge base training.
In traditional automation projects, engineers need to manually write PLC control code, draw HMI human-machine interfaces, configure instrument channel parameters, and perform logic verification. The automation engineering cycle of large process factories is long and prone to human errors. The Eigen engineering intelligent agent can automatically generate basic PLC code and HMI screen framework based on the process description input by the engineer, complete IO point allocation, automatically verify whether the program complies with industrial safety regulations, and support batch configuration of on-site instrument parameters such as level and pressure. Siemens introduced that in more than 100 pilot factory projects distributed in 19 countries, this tool can shorten the automation engineering design cycle by 2-5 times, reduce repetitive engineering work, and enable engineers to focus on high-value work such as process optimization and safety logic design.
To support the continuous research and development of industrial AI, Siemens has simultaneously announced a 1 billion euro special industrial AI investment plan, forming an industrial AI research and development team of over 1500 people. Upgrade the Industrial Edge platform at the same time, strengthen local AI computing capabilities in isolated environments, and adapt to high-risk process industries such as chemical and energy. In such scenarios, real-time measurement data collected by instruments such as radar level gauges and pressure transmitters can be processed directly at the edge without uploading to the cloud, meeting the requirements of OT network isolation, data security, and low latency control.
Siemens stated that the AI engineering tool is not a replacement for automation engineers, but rather serves as an engineering aid; Especially in the automation renovation projects of existing factories, the replacement of a large number of old instruments and the addition of measurement and control points can significantly reduce the workload of configuration and debugging.
LK and Siemens from Germany will work together to contribute to the development and innovation of global automation.
